AMH: The Maine toured Australia as part of Soundwave last year. Give us a recap.
John: Oh man, it was a blast. It was all of our first times being over there. Not only is the country beautiful, it was such an incredible experience playing the same festival as Iron Maiden, Millencolin and New Found Glory – the list goes on and on. It was such a great introduction to Australia and we’re really excited to come back

“Sounds like a productive day! The new album Vulnerable is expected to come out in March, are you excited for the release?

So excited! More excited than I’ve ever been about any record or probably about anything I’ve done in my entire life. Fuck man, it’s a fucking epic record.

What can we expect from it?

Well you can expect the unexpected. It definitely sounds very modern but there are a lot of different sounds. We tried to combine influences from everything, from RnB, full on pop, 80’s pop, hip-hop, straight up rock’n’roll, heavy metal. It’s kind of genre bending at the same time but I think with my voice andQuinn’s guitars it still really sounds like The Used in a big way. I think it reflects a lot of the emotions from the first record which everyone kind of really grabbed on to. It’s just about becoming more than who you really are in life.”
